V2 - Chapter 11 - Is It Taiwan or Ukraine?

Raghu Giuffre • Oct 20, 2023

If ever there would be a pushback from the people of Russia, this would be it.

Russians are left to watch the death to tens of thousands of their youngest,

bravest men, in this war of Ukraine. They live decades of economic collapse, poor

healthcare, school closings and many others.

The question, do the Russia people also have their own redline?

Are they willing to trade nuclear obliteration – for the fight of Ukraine?

It’s time for them to ask.

Europe has already answered: no to nuclear war.

Same again for America. Now it’s Russians turn.

Are they ready for the end of the Motherland?

This at the hands of Putin’s overreach, a terrible miscalculation of war and of

Ukrainian’s iron will to fight – and fight some more.

Should Russian’s say no to nuclear holocaust, we have the beginnings of an

agreement. It’s made of all Europe, America and now that of the Russian people.

A beginning point for true dialogue. This is not the talk of sovereignty or Ukraine

or war or even that of Russia vs America.

This is to talk of global nuclear war or the end of it. To take off the table nukes

as an option of war. A commitment as one community of all nations. Yes, Israel,

Iran, India and N Korea. The world speaking – NO MORE NUKES?

This is the time for Canada and all the rest now threatened by Russia or to

have been bullied, destroyed by them - as well.

There is one thing Putin did get right: the scare of America and Europe. Yes,

they have looked the other way as they talk, and talk, talk some more and send a

few outdated weapons they don’t want any more.

Or of course, we can just wait for Putin to seal his victory of Ukraine. That

should make things a whole lot easier.

Putin will finally have his cult status, all the fervor of China’s Mau, Russia’s

Lenin of the USSR and to his side, all the enemies of the West. Ever embolden to

march to Putin’s next conquest: Taiwan or Iran, Serbia or N Korea. The Artic or

some other in Africa, S America.

Let’s take a minute and imagine a nuclear confrontation with Iran. Wide open,

flat planes of desert. No place to land and launch our soldiers. Doubtful Saudis will

lend America their airfields once again.

We have the War of Taiwan. Is that the place to stand and fight?

  •  Millions of miles of open sea for Russia’s stealthiest of the worlds subs.
  •  Missiles of every brand. They need only sink a couple aircraft carriers to

shut down American defenses at sea.

  •  Access and reinforcement to manpower and weapons, days away.

Sometimes weeks.

  •  Thousands of miles in cost line, in every direction.
  •  There sits the Philippines. Will they side with China and Russia or with

Taiwan and the USA? Well, they already support China. This means America

faces war from 3 sides.

  •  Sweden would be no better, nor even a confrontation with N Korea.

And so that leaves Ukraine. Is this the place for our final stand in this nuclear

confrontation with Putin?

  •  40 million Ukrainians by our side.
  •  A half billion fellow Europeans standing there to our back.
  •  The full might of the NATO Alliance in our holster.
  •  Few threats from sea or cost lines.
  •  And a narrow alley way of engagement as compared to those of China and

Taiwan, or Iran and Serbia, or even Sweden and Lithuania.

If we look at any other scenario, none will ever be more advantageous to

negotiate a true peace with Putin, starting with the full retreat of Ukraine.

A simple offer, stay and lose all remaining Russia military. They already hang

by the slimmest of margins.

Or, face nuclear obliteration. Relatively easy given the few cities Russia has.

OR….return to Russia with full benefits – all embargoes lifted. That’s a victory

Putin can take back to his people. One that will make a real difference to their

lives and that of their nation.

We get to choose now or Putin and China will choose for us. They will choose

to their advantage - at our expense.

The point: make no mistake, nuclear war and its confrontation is here. No

avoiding it now. We only get to choose the where and when. Or Putin will choose

for us. That is the only decision and possibly, the last we will ever make – for all

mankind, ever more.
